First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion

Preparing to receive the Sacrament of First Holy Communion for the first time is one of the most memorable experiences parents share with their children. It is vital that both parents and children attend Mass on a regular basis in order for the child to understand fully what the Eucharist is all about.

Parents are encouraged to enrol their children in our catechism programme at the beginning of each year at an early age. Preparation for First Holy Communion takes place between the ages of 8 and 10 years old and run over a two-year programme. Catechism takes place after Mass every Sunday from about 09:15 to 09:45.

STOLE FEE:
R50.00

The Sacrament of First Holy Communion usually takes place in November.

Confirmation

Confirmation

Confirmation is a continuance of what has begun at Baptism: a continuance of the awareness of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Candidates between the ages of 14 and 16 who seek full initiation into the church are encouraged to join the catechism programme in preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation which runs over a two year period. Confirmation classes form part of our catechism programme and take place after Mass every Sunday between 09:15 and 09:45.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is administered by the Archbishop of the Diocese of Pretoria.

Special programs are arranged for adults.
